OPEN CALL / MURO LX URBAN FEST

Events , Festivals , OPEN CALL | 12-05-2021

Muro LX Urban Art Fest is an Initiative of the Lisbon City Hall that invites artists from all over the world to present their proposals to paint two gables of the Bairro Casal dos Machados.

The theme, this year, revolves around cultural diversity. People, cultures, nations, richness, and diversity will be the protagonists of this year's edition.

In the two previous editions, five artists were chosen within the framework of the call. During the first, in 2017, there were four proposals: The Argentine duo Medianeras, with Multicultural, the Portuguese artist Alecrim with Capitulo MMXVII, and two artists from Brazil: Kramer with Electro Cidade, and Jhon Douglas with Festa do Conhecimiento.
In 2019, in Lumiar, only one artist was selected: Muza, also from Brazil, with A Balada do Sede Ciro and Dona Elvira.

The two intervention proposals will be carried out, within the framework of the MURO LX_21 program, from July 3rd to 11th and with the motto "The Wall that (Re) unites us" an encounter caused by the transforming force of urban art in its capital, which this year is marked by the strong presence of graffiti and urban artists.

The festival counts, in 2021, with the participation of more than 20 Portuguese and international artists who will carry out interventions in the three defined programming nuclei: Multiculturalism, in Casal dos Machados, Sustainability in Av. Pádua and Urban Culture in Parque Tejo , to which they will add the Gare do Oriente as a point of (re) union.´

Each artist will receive a fee of € 6,300 + VAT for the execution of the intervention. You have until May 19 to present your proposals!
